Ireland July 2015 (Updated)

Nothing New on the Western Front Edition

The Irish EV market continues south of 0,5% Share (It is now at 0,45%), but firmly north of the 0,27% of last year, last month 107 units  were sold, making it the second best in history, only behind the 141 of last January, but as this is a highly seasonable market, it is better to compare with the result of July '14, back then 46 EV's were registered, meaning that sales doubled YoY, and with YTD sales already 91% higher than last year (With five months to go) it seems that EV's will continue to reach new heights in the near future.

This EV market is sinonymous with Nissan Leaf, the 350 units YTD represent a new record, with roughly 3 out of 4 EV's rolling in Ireland being Leafs.

As for others, the numbers continue rather small and with no other model really taking off. It is even strange to see that, in a context of exponential growth, Tesla is not riding the wave, having only symbolic numbers to show.

  1. A Christ! How did I miss this? I hope you'll fond my most recent comment. Total were 107 plugins, with a few A3s and Mitsu PHEVs.
